Serious personal growth within Murphy household

I want to dedicate this post to my husband, Trent. I feel it is important recognize the growth that is going on in this man. When I began AdvoCare, I did not realize that it was a leadership development company disguised as a nutritional company. Trent has had a really hard time sharing his story when it comes to AdvoCare and when and how it found him, so that's kind of what I'm going to do...and share his story from my eyes.
Trent really did not have a choice when it came to AdvoCare interrupting his life. I bought my 24 Day Challenge and Distributor kit without asking him and just hid my kit under the bed for two weeks. It was easy for me to take the products without him seeing because he works nights and would sleep all day. The first time he noticed that I was losing weight was when I brought out everything and showed it to him and SPARKED him! Needless to say, he was hooked.
Trent has never had a weight problem but he did drink a lot of soda, alcohol, and tea as well as ate sooooooooo much fast food! He worked for restaurants, and they would give him free food all the time. Another character trait...he was a pretty bitter guy. Ashley, what do you mean by bitter? He hardly ever smiled, short tempered, not friendly, and just always seemed to have a chip on his shoulder. I heard this from people too often. I seen it, yes, but loved the man so much that I decided from day one I was going to love all of him for who he is because trying to make someone change into what you think they should be does not happen, plus he knows how to ALWAYS make me laugh.

The more he learned about the company and the more weight I lost the more he got excited about the products and the opportunity. He instantly began watching all the training videos, and reading books because our friends and leaders told us to READ. He read Relationships 101 in less than a week. Then he started doing something I never thought would happen. That was helping me on the weekends while he was home rather than go disc golfing. A little tidbit about him..HE LOVES DISC GOLF!
He is a professional practically. He plays every Saturday and some Sunday's in a league, and has been doing this now for almost six years. This was something I had gotten used to, and would just do my thing when he would go off and do his. So...WHAT again??? No league today??? You're going to get on the phones with me? Read some more? Take kids away? Help me clean? Talk and come up with some mutual and personal goals together? Smile? Go to church? Read?  So who are you and where is my husband? I found out that I have not been fooled..he was not switched for a newer model, but was rather changing and growing. He WANTED to be a better husband, father, son of God, brother, son, and friend. Because AdvoCare came in our life and he was now surrounding himself by other champions, he realized that this was not the guy he has always wanted to be..that this is NOT as good as it gets, so he started on the path that leads to personal growth.
I just have to say that this change in him has not gone unnoticed. I, as his wife, am more and more proud of him every single day. I love watching him read..THAT IS SEXY! I love watching him train and talk on the phone to new prospects and help me share what this opportunity can do for them. Other people are noticing too! I have had quite a few people ask me what has gotten into him, and just mention that they can tell that there are some major, positive changes taking place in his life.

I'm glad that he is smiling because he really does have a great smile. So..here we are 4 1/2 months in and so many positive things are happening so far. WE cant wait to see what the future holds and the lives we're going to impact a long the way. He just finished his first 24 Day Challenge!! He ended up doing the Max E with Chocolate shakes and LOVED it! He also had some real amazing results...

I'm so proud of you, my wonderful husband! I know that it is not easy to improve yourself all around, but is so worth it. Together, lets vow that we are going to keep personally developing, and grow in leadership together! I LOVE YOU!!!

PS...We just came back from Success School 2013 in Dallas Cowboys Stadium. Something said there that resonated with us was from Richard Wright's story. He said that he did not have many pictures of the bad times when he worked as a lawn maintenance guy because we tend to not take as many pictures during the "bad" times. When we came home we made sure to get a picture of Daddy Trent, in his dirty work clothes, headed out for the night to provide for his family. It will be a great picture to show off when we're diamonds.
